Ironman 70.3 Boise

Course

The 1.2-mile swim will be held in the crystal clear waters of Table Rock Lake in the shadow of the host hotel, Chateau on the Lake Resort, Spa & Convention Center. Athletes will enjoy the ease of walking from the host hotel to the swim start on race morning. Water temperatures are expected to be 70 F.

The transition area will be located on the grounds of Moonshine Beach. Following the swim, athletes will cover a challenging 56-mile bike course through the rolling hills of the Ozark Mountains. Athletes will then transition to a flat, spectator-friendly, two-loop 13.1 mile run course.

 

Swim Course

1.2 Miles (1 loop)

  • Athletes will start on the beach of Moonshine Beach located in the shadows of host hotel The Chateau on the Lake.
  • Athletes will travel Clockwise along buoys placed every 100 meters for a triangular-shaped swim course.
  • Athletes will exit Table Rock Lake on Moonshine Beach and will travel a short 50 meters to the Transition area located in the Beach Parking Lot.

Bike Course

56 Miles (2 loops)

  • Athletes will Transition from Swim to Bike in the parking lot of Moonshine Beach.
  • Turn LEFT on 165 leaving the parking lot of Moonshine Beach.
  • Turn LEFT on 265.
  • Follow 265 to HWY 76.
  • Merge RIGHT onto Highway 76.
  • Travel on Highway 76 before exiting RIGHT on off ramp to Ozark Mountain High Road (465).
  • *** Travel in Northbound lanes of 465 to intersection of 465 and Sunrise Drive. 
  • ***TURN RIGHT on SUNRISE DRIVE.  Follow SUNRISE DRIVE Southbound.
  • ***TURN RIGHT on BUCHANAN ROAD.
  • ***TURN LEFT into BRANSON HIGH SCHOOL.  TURN AROUND IN PARKING LOT.
  • *** Return Southbound lanes of 465 to intersection of 465 and HWY 76 TURN AROUND
  • Exit 465 Northbound RIGHT onto exit ramp leading to HWY 248.
  • Follow HWY 248 all the way to Branson Landing Parkway.
  • Turn LEFT into North Branson Landing Parking Lot near Belk Department Store.
  • Athletes will Transition from Bike to Run in this Parking Lot.

*** This section of the course will be traveled twice.  (2 laps)  This section of Highway is  four-lanes (plus shoulders) and completely closed to vehicular traffic.  Athletes will exit this portion of the course after completing this section twice.

-All road surfaces are in excellent condition.

Run Course

13.1 miles (3 laps)

  • Athletes will start in the North Parking Lot of the Branson Landing near the Belk Department Store.
  • Exit Transition and follow the Branson Landing Boardwalk Path Southbound.
  • Athletes will run behind the Branson Landing Water & Fire Show on each lap.  (Athletes will finish in front of the Water & Fire Show on final lap.)
  • Follow Branson Landing Boardwalk Path to Branson Landing Boulevard.
  • TURN LEFT on Branson Landing Boulevard.
  • TURN LEFT on Moore St.
  • TURN RIGHT on Shore Lane
  • TURN RIGHT on Canal Street
  • TURN LEFT on Cliff Drive
  • TURN LEFT on Sunset Road
  • TURN RIGHT into Alexander Park.  Run through parking lot.
  • TURN RIGHT back onto Sunset Road
  • TURN RIGHT onto Running Path in Sunset Park.
  • Follow Running Path in Sunset Park Counter-Clockwise.
  • Complete one loop on Running Path.
  • Return back to the Branson Landing in reverse order.
  • Athletes will separate from the Branson Landing Boardwalk Path and turn left to run through the Branson Landing Promenade area.
  • Athletes will run from South to North through the Branson Landing Promenade finishing their first lap near the Belk Department Store Parking Lot.
  • Athletes will complete 3 laps before finishing at the Branson Landing Water & Fire Show.
